The Tale of A Naughty Little Rabbit, a contemporary re-telling of Beatrix Potter’s classic tale, has been selected as one of this year’s Booktrust Booktime books.

Booktime, Pearson's flagship UK community programme, was launched in 2006 by Pearson in partnership with Booktrust and aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading by encouraging families to have fun reading together.

This autumn, 725,000 children in reception classes in England and Wales will receive a free book pack in their first term of primary school.  Each pack contains two Pearson books to keep. The books are The Tale of the Naughty Little Rabbit published by Frederick Warne & Co., an imprint of Penguin Children’s, and Tim’s Din, from the Phonics Bug series by Pearson UK.

I am sure that I am the biggest fan of Peter Rabbit!! He has been my best friend since I was about ten. When I visited London, I tried to find his shop but one of it was closed down in central London. It was sad to see. I hope more people read Peter's story and make more children happy.

At my Grandmothers house, where my Grandmother and my Great Grandmother lived,
had a complete set of the original little books. She read them to us her grandchildren time and time again. We grew up yet we still read them when we came home for a visit. My sister had the first of the next generation and did her nursery decorated with Peter and his friends, including a rug my father had made :-). Her daughter was read the little books when I Aunty and my niece visited Great Grandma's. When it was my turn to have children (a boy and a girl) Peter and the books came to stay with them. Sometimes they would read them to me,mom. My daughter is now grown and is looking to the future to decorate her nursery with the little books of my Great Grandmother & Grandmothers. My daughter had many toys and things having to do with Peter and such.. She saved much of them. I have been squirreling around and collecting Mrs. Potter's books and other Peter Rabbit things as I see them, though Peter things are not too much in the stores here in the U.S. . I am looking forward to this future nursery and I am delighted to see this sight. I sent the site to my daughter as well.. Until then I will read the books to children I know, and share my love for Peter.
My grandchild will be the 5th generation to enjoy The world of Mrs. Potter's stories. I can't wait! Will the Peter Rabbit exhibition and museum collection come to the USA?

How do I get a copy of this book for the soon to arrive son of an American Airman. His little boy is to be named PETER ( I wonder where they got the name?). The mother-to-be was a speech & hearing major in college and now tests the hearing of newborns. But Peter Rabbit didn't have a HEARING problem, he had a LISTENING problem.
Thank you for giving children the gift of reading!
