The Beatrix Potter Green Award 2009 - winners announced!
We were overwhelmed with entries for this year's award. The standard was extremely high, with entries from Green Champions right across the UK.
Congratulations to everyone who took the time to enter, you should be very proud of your wonderful green achievements. It was a very difficult decision to select the final winners and runners-up, but we are delighted to announce:
WINNER: 5-7 years category - HARRIET from LINCOLN
WINNER: 8-11 years category - ALEX from CHESHIRE
Harriet and Alex have both won a brand new digital camera, a year's family membership to the National Trust and also £500 to donate to their school or local community to spend on a green initiative. We will be reporting on how those green projects have benefitted from the money a little later on down the track.
We are very happy to announce the 2 runners-up in each category:
RUNNER-UP: 5-7 years - Mack from West Bridgford
RUNNER-UP: 5-7 years - Connel from North Darkland, by Elgin
RUNNER-UP: 8-11 years - Angharad from Monmouthshire
RUNNER-UP: 8-11 years - Isaac from Newquay
Mack, Connel, Angharad and Isaac have each won a Beatrix Potter Green Award prize pack worth £100!
