Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea

The Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea at Healing Manor Hotel will be an enchanting mix of delicious savory and sweet treats designed by Steven Bennett and his team of chefs. Dishes include Mr. McGregor’s Vegetable Garden which is a homemade pâté, edible soil and vegetable crudités. It’s served with toasted hedgehog bread, as a nod to Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, who lives in a tiny cottage in the fells of the Lake District and spends her days as a washerwoman.

Sandwiches are inspired by The Tale of Two Bad Mice. They make reference to when Hunka Munka and Tom Thumb discover that the food, including cheese and ham, in the doll’s house that they’ve broken into is made of plaster, and smash the plates leaving destruction everywhere. The sandwiches featured on the Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea include;

The sweets include a white chocolate egg influenced by Jemima Puddle-Duck and a butterfly sandwich from The Tale of Jeremy Fisher. Other sweet treats refer to The Tale of Benjamin Bunny and The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and include a ‘Rabbit tobacco’ scone, blackberry macaron and a Peter Rabbit biscuit.

The Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tea is served with a choice of Stokes of Lincoln Tea or Coffee, or can be upgraded an enjoyed with a glass of prosecco. We’re also offering an enchanting array of cocktails inspired by the Tales of Beatrix Potter. ‘Bunny Tail fizz’ is a concoction of champagne, Belvoir Elderflower Pressé and candy floss, ‘Bees Knees’ is inspired by the landscape referenced in Beatrix Potter’s novels and non-alcohol cocktails include a Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail Milk Shake and Peter Rabbit’s Juice featuring fresh carrot, apple and orange.
